Day 01:  Kochi – Palakkad: Welcome in God’s own country! You will be received at Kochi airport, assisted and transferred straight to Palakkad – a great cultural area of Kerala. On arrival, check in at your heritage Ayurvedic resort. During the day enjoy Ayurvedic massages using Herbal powder and oils.

 

   
       
 

Day 02: Palakkad(Ayurvedicmassages & visit to the beautiful temples and Elephant Sanctuary): Morning enjoy 1 hour massage session using different herbal oils. After the therapy session, enjoy the rejuvenating Steam bath. You will be also provided Herbal juices and herbal tea.After brief leisure, you have the option to visit the beautiful & famous ‘Guruvayoor Temple’ (30 minutes drive from your Ayurveda centre; though non-hindus are not allowed inside the temple complex), you may also visit the market places close to the temple area.Later you have the option to visit the ‘Kodanad’ elephant training centre (which is 03 KM away from Guruvayoor temple).

 
   
Day 03: Palakkad (Yoga, Ayurvedicmassages & city tour):Morning enjoy a general body massage for 01 hour, using different herbal oils. After the therapy session, enjoy the rejuvenating steam bath. You will be also provided Herbal juices and herbal tea. Later visit the main attractions of Palakkad. You may learn Yoga and meditation sessions at the property and practices it. During the evening time you have the option to visit the nearby temple to see the spiritual songs performance. Stay overnight at your Ayurvedic centre.
   
 

Day 04:  Palakkad (Yoga & Ayurvedicmassages):Morning enjoy 1 hour massage session using different herbal powder or oils. After the therapy session, enjoy the rejuvenating Steam bath.

 
       
 

Day 05: Palakkad (Yoga & Ayurvedicmassages):Morning enjoy 1 hour massage session using different herbal powder or oils. After the therapy session, enjoy the rejuvenating Steam bath. You may learn Yoga and meditation sessions at the property and practices it.

Day 08:  Departure:Morning after breakfast check out from your Ayurvedic centre and at appropriate time you will be transferred to Kochi airport for your onwards journey back to your home destinations. The tour ends.
   

Available Ayurvedic Treatments & Massages in Kerala

 

Panchakarma- In this treatment herbal juices and medicated oils are applied through the nose. Panchakarma is the Ayurvedic way of removing accumulated toxins. This treatment is highly effective for diseases of the head including headaches, migraine, facial paralysis, mental disorders, skin disease, nasal congestion and chronic sinusitis. Medicated rare and precious herbal leaves and herbs are boiled and the steam is passed to the whole body for about 10 to 20 minutes. This is good for certain skin diseases, to eliminate impurities from the body, to improve the tone of the body and to reduce fat. After Panchakarma, a subsequent change in lifestyle helps to maintain an ideal state of health.

 

Sajooya: A rejuvenating whole-body massage using herbalised oil chosen according to your body-type this increases blood circulation and lymphatic flow while relieving fatigue and aches and pains and soothing mind and emotions. This delightful treatment restores the balance of vata dosha, which is upset by excessive movement.

 

Abhyangam- Abhyangam means 'oil massage'. In Abhyanga, medicated oil is massaged all over the body. This treatment is very useful for Rheumatism, especially for Diabetic gangerene (a condition due to lack of blood circulation in the extremities of the body) etc.

 

Ilakkizhi (Patrasweda)- 'Ilakkizhi' or Patrasweda is a kind of sudation therapy using herbal leaves. Various Herbal Leaves are chopped and mixed with grated coconut and mustard. In rheumatic pains and associated swelling of the joints, fomentation and massage with Ilakkizhi (bundles containing leaves) bring a great relief.

 

Abhyangam & Special Face Massage- Abhyangam usually mixed with a facial massage based on Ayurvedic principles. This massage rejuvenates skin & makes it healthy and glowing. Natural herbal product extracts and pure essential oils are used in this massage.

 

Podikkizhi (Choornasweda)-Podikkizhi is a method of therapeutic sweating. It is good for ailments due to disrupted Vata and Kapha doshas. The body is fomented thoroughly with linen bags (kizhis) containing herbal drugs in powdered form.

 

Udvarthanam (Herbal powder massage)-This is a special type of Ayurvedic massage done with a special herbal powder in a rhythmic motion (Upward motion). This massage is included in our slimming programme. This treatment is commonly used for Obesity. (Removal of excess fat.)

 

Navarakkizhi-Navarakkizhi involves massaging of the body with small linen bags filled with Navara (Shastika), after a liberal application of medicated oils. Navara Kizhi is also of great benefit to those with atrophy of the muscles, arthritis, weakness of the extremities and tremors. This treatment will benefit from this treatments anti-aging.

 

Ksheeradhara- This treatment is done with medicated milk. Usually cow's milk is used i this treatment. Decoctions of various herbs are added to the milk. Ksheeradhara for the head alone is called Shirodhara while for the whole body (except head) is called Sarvangadhara. A Sravanga Ksheeradhra is usually prescribed for diseases caused by disorders of the Pitta.

 

Thakradhara-Thakradhara is a powerful relaxation therapy for the head and mind. It's commonly used for treating Alzheimer's disease, insomnia, depression, stress related problems, hypertension, skin disorders, anemia etc. Buttermilk, which has tremendous cooling properties, is used as the main ingredient for the treatment. The treatment induces coolness to the brain, relaxes the mind, reduces mental stress and increases memory power. Hence Thakradhara is also considered as a good rejuvenating treatment for the mind and body.

 

Pizhichil-In this treatment lukewarm medicated oil is applied on the body. Oil dipped pieces of cloth are squeezed by hand and the oils rubbed smoothly over the body of the patient by Measures on either side. Pizhichil is recommended for diseases caused by a vitiation of the Vata humour- Pakshagliata, paralysis and muscle spasms and other degenerative diseases that affect the muscles.
