DAY 1

Chennai

You will be received at Chennai airport, assisted and transferred straight to your hotel. Remaining time is at leisure till next morning.

DAY 2

Mahabalipuram & Kanchipuram

Morning proceed for a full day excursion to Mahabalipuram which is famous for its rock carvings and the beautiful Shore Temple. Later visit Kanchipuram- the ancient capital of the Pallavas also famous as the city of 1000 Temples. Kanchipuram is home to the famous silk and cotton weaving industry.

DAY 3

Chennai – Puducherry

Morning enjoy the half-day sight seeing tour of Chennai. Later you will be driven to reach the former French colony of Pondicherry (recently renamed as Puducherry). Palm-fringed beaches, backwaters, fishing villages, luxury beach resorts, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, a coastline of 32 kms, great sea-food, quality wine and colonial feel are just few reasons to visit Pondicherry. Stay overnight in your hotel.

DAY 4

Pondicherry

Morning visit the famous Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Later visit the Pondicherry Museum and Auroville- a unique township dedicated to human unity.

DAY 5

Trichy (Via Tanjore & Darasuram)

Explore one of the most famous temple cities of India i.e. Darasuram- home of the UNESCO World Heritage Airavetisvara Temple and Tanjore which has a magnificent history dating back more than 1500 years. Visit the Brihadeeswara Temple (a World Heritage site) before continuing to Trichy. On arrival, check in at your hotel. Remaining time is at leisure.

DAY 6

Trichy

During the day visit the Rock Fort & its impressive temples.

Trichy – Madurai

Morning you will be transferred to Madurai. After brief leisure, enjoy a half day city tour of Madurai including the magnificent Meenakshi Temple which is famous for its unique architecture. Later also visit Tirumalai Nayaka Temple and Temple Art Museum.

DAY 8

Madurai – Periyar

Morning drive to reach Periyar wildlife sanctuary, situated into the cool Western Ghats. After brief leisure, proceed for a wildlife cruise over Periyar Lake. If lucky, you may spot Wild Elephants on the grassy banks.

DAY 9

Periyar – Alleppey (Backwaters)

Morning you will be driven to Alleppey, en-route visiting Spice Plantations.

On arrival at Alleppey, check in at your resort at backwaters. Alleppey rightly stakes claim to its nickname 'Venice of the East', with its meandering lagoons, coconut trees, endless rows of paddy fields. Alleppey is an ideal base to experience the beaches and backwaters. During the day you have an option to enjoy different water sports and Ayurvedic massages at your resort.

DAY 10

Alleppey – Kochi

Morning you will be transferred to the historic port city of Kerala i.e. Cochin. During the day enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kochi including all main attractions of this historical city.

You may visit the colourful old spice market and markets on M.G. Road during the evening.

DAY 11

Ooty

Morning you will be driven towards Nilgiris Hills to reach Ooty- one of India’s best known Hill stations. On arrival, check in at your beautiful heritage hotel. Later visit Ooty lake and Botanical Gardens during the evening.

DAY 12

Ooty - Mysore

Morning enjoy the sightseeing tour of Ooty covering the major attractions. Later you will be transferred to Mysore- the legendary city of palaces, perfumes, sandalwood and jasmine... On arrival, check in at your hotel. Remaining day is at leisure till next morning.

DAY 13

Mysore

Morning proceed for the sightseeing tour of Mysore city, which includes your visit to Mysore Palace, Brindavan Gardens, Chamundi Hills, Mysore Zoo and other popular attractions. Later you may visit Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation where you may witness the silk weaving process if the same will be going on, during the time of your visit.

DAY 14

Mysore - Chennai

Morning visit the colourful ‘Devraja Flower Market’. Later at appropriate time you will be transferred to Mysore railway station to board an afternoon train to Chennai. On arrival at Chennai, you will be assisted and transferred to your hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 15

Departure

Morning after breakfast at appropriate time you will be transferred to Chennai international airport for your onward journey back to your home destination. The tour ends.
