Tadoba National Park is Maharashtra's oldest and largest national park, covering 625.4 square kilometers. Tadoba National Park (116.55 sq km) and Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary (508.85 sq km), which together make up Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, cover the Chimur Hills, Moharli, and Kolsa Ranges in Maharashtra. The park is home to tigers, panthers, hyenas, sloth bears, barking deer, wild dogs, jackals, bison, and sambar, as well as a magical landscape of rugged mountains, marshlands, and lakes. Tadoba is one of India's best wildlife destinations for an unforgettable tiger sighting experience. There are around 115 tigers and 151 leopards in the Tadoba Tiger Reserve.
The marsh crocodiles, are in big numbers in Tadoba Lake. The endangered Indian python and the common Indian monitor are among the reptiles found here. Tadoba is also home to terrapins, Indian star tortoises, Indian cobras, and Russell's vipers.
A large range of water birds and raptors can be found in the lake. A total of 195 bird species have been described, including three endangered species. Some of the raptors seen in the park include the grey-headed fish eagle, the crested serpent eagle, and the changeable hawk-eagle.
Board a morning flight from Delhi/Mumbai to Nagpur. You will be assisted on arrival at Nagpur airport and transferred straightway to Tadoba National Park. On arrival, check in at your wildlife resort. After brief leisure proceed for your first jungle safari into Tadoba. Stay overnight at your wildlife resort.
In the morning proceed for another jeep safari inside the jungle. Tadoba Safaris are the longest that you may take among any wildlife national parks in India. The morning safari starts at 6.00 A.M. and it lasts till around 11.00 A.M. The evening safari again starts at around 2.30 P.M. and it lasts till sunset (around 7.00 P.M.). Tadoba National Park offers immense opportunity for the sighting of rare animals like sloth bear, wild dogs, leopard and on the top of that the magnificent tiger. As this wildlife park is little known there aren’t many visitors and most of the times the sighting is exclusive. After lunch and a brief siesta, take the afternoon jeep safari inside the jungle. If lucky, get a chance to encounter the king of the jungle in his own kingdom. In the evening drive back to your hotel for having dinner and to relax till next morning.
Early morning depart for the Moharli gate by jeeps. Meet the elephant with their mahouts and enter the Tiger Reserve through the Moharli gate. Enjoy the wildlife viewing on elephant back. The elephant ride will be followed by a jeep safari. You will have the jeep, driver come naturalist and the forest guard exclusively assisting you for tracking the tigers and other wildlife. Post safari, return back to your resort for breakfast. Later checkout and you will be transferred to Chandrapur railway station for your onward journey. Tour ends.
