Jim Corbett National Park is not only India’s first national park but it is a large bio diversity hot spot. The Park is divided into various zones each zone having separate tracks for vehicle movements. Some of the zones could be visited only if one is able to get the permission and permit to stay in one of the Forest Rest Houses located in that particular zone. In-fact Corbett is one of the very few national parks of India which provides the opportunity of staying inside the jungle. The most popular wildlife zones for seeing bigger mammals are ‘Bijrani’ and ‘Dhikala’. Dhikala is particularly famous for a very good sighting of wild animals as it is located deep inside the forest. This also has the most efficient forest rest house of the park. Over 52 mammals, 600 birds and 25 reptile species have been listed in Corbett. This is an extremely beautiful park very famous for the large population of elephants and tigers, which inhibits here. Wild boar, chital, spotted deer and ghariyal are some other most commonly seen mammals here.
Way to reach Corbett National Park: Corbett is an easily accessible destination with Haridwar being the closest important city (4 ½ hours driving distance) while Delhi is around 5 ½ hours driving distance away.
P.S. Heavy monsoon rainfall and large rivers runoff make this park inaccessible from 15th June till 15th November when Park remains officially closed.
At appropriate time you will be picked up from your place of stay in Delhi or from Delhi airport and transferred to Delhi railway station to board an overnight train to Ramnagar.
On arrival at Ramnagar railway station you will be received and driven further to your resort. After breakfast enjoy an elephant ride to see all kind of wildlife and if lucky, even the elusive 'Royal Bengal Tiger'. Later board your exclusive open 4WD and proceed towards Amdanda Gate to enter inside Corbett Tiger Reserve. On the way enjoy the panoramic view of the grassland area and its abundant wildlife. Finally reach Bijrani Forest Rest House which is situated deep inside the jungle. After brief leisure and lunch, proceed for an elephant ride to see the tigers. An expert naturalist will be accompanying during your tour. After safari back to your forest rest house, the remaining time is kept free for leisure.
Morning proceed for an elephant ride inside the jungle. Post elephant ride, return back to your resort for breakfast. After brief leisure enjoy jeep safaris in the jungle in search of elusive tiger. The remaining time is kept free for leisure. In the evening you take walking tour in the surrounding of forest rest house.
Morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Ramnagar railway station to board a day train back to Delhi. The tour ends here.
