Detailed ltinerary

DAY 1

Guwahati – Kaziranga

You will be assisted at Guwahati airport and drive straight to Kaziranga National Park. On arrival, check in at your wildlife resort. Kaziranga is the largest undisturbed representative area of Brahmaputra. Reputed to be a mini Africa in the Indian sub-continent, the Park has more than 70% of the world's one-horned rhino population, 70% of the world population of the Eastern Swamp Deer and 75% of the world's wild Asiatic water buffalo. It has a significant population of the Asian Elephants. Moreover, the Park has more than 483 species of birds, 18 of them are globally threatened species. Evening enjoy campfire followed by dinner at your wildife resort. Stay overnight at Kaziranga National Park.

DAY 2

Kaziranga – Elephant and Jeep Safari – Nameri

Morning proceed for an elephant ride in the dense forest of Kaziranga. Elephant safari is the most enjoyed safari to explore the wide varieties of wildlife in the Kaziranga National Park. The vast area covered by the Elephant Grass can be best viewed when you are on an elephant's back. Here you get the opportunity to see the One-horned Rhinoceros, Elephants and many other wild animals from a very close distance. Return back to your resort for breakfast.

After breakfast check out and proceed to visit the Western Range of the Park. It takes 25 minutes by jeep to reach the entrance of this Range. This range has maximum short grass areas and is the optimum habitat for Rhino and Water Buffalo. A round of the entire circuit is around 20 km. Post safari drive to Nameri (2 hrs), crossing the mighty Brahmaputra River and enjoying the scenic mountain ranges of Arunachal Pradesh. On arrival at Nameri, check in at your Eco camp. Located on the banks of Jia Bhoroli River and on Assam-Arunachal border, it opened in Nov 1998 and is home to the Barking Deer, white winged duck, Sambhar, Hog Deer and Elephants. The place has over 350 species of birds. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at your camp in Nameri.

DAY 3

Nameri – Dirang

After breakfast checkout and you will be transferred to the boat embankment point (8 km) by car. Come down by boat on the snow-fed Himalayan river. You will have an amazing experience while sailing over the Jia Bhorelli River. Halt on a small rocky island on the way. Later disembark from your boat and drive on the hill road towards Dirang. En-route stop at the orchidarium at Tipi. Later proceed towards the spectacular Dirang valley.

On arrival at Dirang, check in at your hotel. Dirang is famous for its apple orchards, sheep breeding farms and natural hot springs. Dirang is ideal place for adventures like trekking and hiking. Stay overnight at Dirang.

DAY 4

Dirang

After breakfast proceed to visit Dirang monastery. Later visit Sangti Valley which is one of the seasonal homes of the majestic creature called the black-necked crane that flies across from China and Leh, right into its laps. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the beautiful waterfalls/streams. Return to your hotel in the evening. Stay overnight at Dirang.

DAY 5

Dirang – Sela Pass – Tawang

Morning proceed to Tawang on a fascinating drive. Stop at Sela pass for some time. Situated at an altitude of 14,000 ft., this famous pass is covered with snow for most of the year. Later proceed downhill to Tawang Chu River. Enjoy the view of the beautiful Nuranang waterfalls. Later driver further and on arrival at Tawang, check in at your hotel.

After lunch visit the famous Tawang Monastery/Gompa. The 300 year old Monastery, locally called "Gompa" is considered to be the oldest in India and second largest Monastery in Asia after Lhasa in Tibet. The Monastery stands on the spur of a hill over 12000 ft. above the sea level. It accommodates over 500 monks and houses priceless Buddhist texts and scriptures. Stay overnight at Tawang.

DAY 6

Tawang

After breakfast drive to the high altitude lakes of Pangong Tang Tso. This is an extremely scenic drive with bird’s eye view of the township below. Post lunch enjoy the day at leisure. Walk into the town and do some shopping. Or you could go exploring on your own. You may visit the Craft Center and traditional Monpa Village. Stay overnight at Tawang.

DAY 7

Tawang – Dirang

Morning start driving back to Dirang. Track the sights you might have missed out before. Arrive Dirang and enjoy lunch after your scenic ride.

You may enjoy your day strolling and interacting with locals. Stay overnight at Dirang.

DAY 8

Dirang – Nameri

After breakfast drive back to Nameri, en-route halt briefly by the river side at a beautiful picnic spot at Tenga Meadows. Later continue your driver further to Nameri. On arrival, check in at your eco camp. Overnight stay at Nameri.

DAY 9

Nameri - Guwahati (6 hrs)

After an early breakfast, depart for Guwahati. If time allows, visit the famous Kamakhya temple. Dedicated to Goddess Kali, this temple is located atop Nilachal Hill overlooking Guwahati. Later you will be transferred to Guwahati airport for your onward journey. Tour ends.
