Singalila trek provides breathtaking views of the Himalayan range from Cho Oyo to Kanchenjunga, stretching from Darjeeling hills where tea plantations reach as far as the eye can see to Sikkim, an ancient Himalayan kingdom of Tibetan culture. The Singalila range is one of the few places on the planet where you can see five 8000m peaks, like Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu.
You will trek on simple narrow paths along the Indo-Nepali frontier, often at the edge of the jungle, often through rhododendron woods, on these 19th century English Lords tracks. The key Sikkim monasteries (Pemayangtse, Tashiding, Rumtek) provide a cultural touch to this journey, making it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Board a flight from Delhi to Bagdogra. You will be assisted at Bagdogra airport by our representative and will be transferred to Darjeeling, once the summer capital of India. Darjeeling offers a mix-experience of lively nature charming Himalayan people. Surrounded by Tea gardens, this little town faces some of the highest peaks of the Himalayas. Take a rest and then a walk around town to appreciate the new culture you are in. Stay overnight at your hotel.
Early morning start for Tiger Hill to watch the spectacular sunrise and its amazing effects on the Mt. Kanchendzonga (Worlds 3rd highest peak), Visit Batashia Loop War Memorial while returning to the Hotel and Ghoom Monastery. Post breakfast, proceed for the attractions of Darjeeling covering the best points viz. Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountainering Institute, Tibetan Refugee Self-help Center and Rock side. After that visit to the Mall(Chowrasta) along with local Market (City Life). Stay overnight at hotel.
Early morning drive from Darjeeling to trek point. The trail overlooks the Bengali plain south, and we have Tantalising glimpses of Kanchenjunga ahead, as we zigzag through rhododendrons. Stay overnight in your camp.
Start trekking towards Garibas. We take a mossy paved path that passes through a succession of forests and hamlets, giving way, from time to time, to spectacular mountain sceneries.
We steadily climb to join the ridge trail towards Kalpokhari. Afterwards we start a long and steep climb onto the Singalila ridge that leads us to Sandakphu. Enjoy a remarkable 360 degree view from the top.
We walk to a prominent viewpoint for the magnificent sunrise over the Kanchenjunga, Jannu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyo. Throughout the day, there are ever-changing views: yak herds, silvery pine forests, tiny lakes ringed with grass, and the snow-capped Himalayan range in the background.
A pleasant descent through the woods takes us to Gorkhey (2500m) then we climb up towards Raman. Stay overnight in your camp.
Start trek passing through beautiful villages. Later you will cross the Sri Khola over a remarkable suspension bridge.
Morning after breakfast you will be driven to Darjeeling and on arrival, check in at your hotel. Remaining time is at leisure. Evening you may visit the mall road and markets.
Morning checkout and you will be transferred to Bagdogra airport to board a flight to Delhi for your onward journey. Tour ends.
