DAY 1

Colombo - Habarana

 

Upon arrival at the airport in Colombo, you will be met and taken to your hotel in Habarana: a central point of Sri Lanka's cultural triangle, the most ideal location for touring the country's three of the historic cities, and Minneriya National Park (site of the gathering of more than 300 Elephants between July and September).

On arrival at Habarana, check in at your hotel. After brief leisure you may enjoy an Elephant safari through the jungles of Habarana. Stay overnight in your hotel.

DAY 2

Habarana (Excursion to Anuradapura)

Morning after breakfast, proceed to Anuradhapura, the most prominent and ancient cities of Sri Lanka. These monuments and fine pieces of architecture are noteworthy features of the place today. To see here is interesting because the statue of the 2500-year-year-old “Samadhi Buddha” is currently installed at “Deep Meditation Park,” which was built over the sacred Bo Tree where Buddha meditated under which, and the monastery built in his honour, and the Ruwanwani Hills are also located. The Isuriya rock temple, located in Anuradhapura, is also well known for its historic stone carv carving that shows various scenes of the third century B.C. Stay overnight at your hotel.

DAY 3

Habarana – Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa

Morning after breakfast, proceed to visit the rock fortress of Sigiriya. This is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the major attractions of Sri Lanka.

Afterwards, go to Polonnaruwa, which was founded in the 11th and 12th centuries AD and is now one of Sri Lanka's best preserved cities. You will get to see the remnants of the Royal Palace as well as The Upright, Proper, Sedentary, and Cools statues of Buddha in the Buddhist temple where they reside. Stay overnight at your hotel.

DAY 4

Habarana – Kandy

After breakfast, travel to Kandy, Sri Lanka's cultural capital, where centuries-old stories, rituals, and folklore still abound. Visit the Spice Garden in Matale en route. Continue your journey and check into your hotel when you arrive in Kandy. Enjoy the Cultural Dance Show after a short break. In the evening, go to the Temple of the Tooth, also known as the "Dalada Maligawa."

DAY 5

Kandy

Morning proceed to Peradeniya, an exotic botanical garden built by Sinhala King. Later this garden was extended by British and today this 147 acres Garden is amazingly beautiful with variety of trees, plants and blossoming flowers.

Later, proceed to visit Pinnawela. It is an Elephant orphanage that has grown into a popular tourist attraction in Sri Lanka, where abandoned and disabled elephants are lovingly cared for. Many researchers and scientists from all over the world visit this location on a regular basis.

In the evening, you will go to the Last Sinhala King's Kandy Lake, the arts and crafts centre and bazaar, the gem museum, and a lapidary. Stay in your hotel for the night.

DAY 6

Departure

Morning after breakfast, checkout from your hotel and at appropriate time you will be transferred to Colombo international airport for your onward journey back to your home destination. The tour ends.
